Peterborough City Council’s Cabinet is publishing its proposals on how it will balance its books in 2013/14 on Friday 25 January 2013. To view the document and the PBOROtrib view click this link.
The proposals are being published in preparation for the Cabinet meeting on 4 February 2013. At this meeting the Cabinet is set to agree for these proposals to go out to formal consultation.
Since the Government’s Spending Review was first announced in October 2010, all councils have faced a reduction in the funding they receive each year from Government.
These proposals are the Cabinet’s ideas on how they can close the gap in funding through a series of efficiency savings, service reductions and investments and they want to hear your views.
A special extraordinary meeting of Neighbourhood Committees and Parish Councils is being held in the reception room at the Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough on 13th February at 7pm
You can also get involved via the website www.peterborough.gov.uk or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also send your views to Vicki Palazon, Financial Service Manager, Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough, PE1 1HG
The consultation is being launched later than in previous years because the council only received information from the Government about the funding it will receive on 19 December 2012.
