A crew from Stanground and a second crew from from Dogsthorpe together with a specialist rescue vehicle also from Dogsthorpe were called to a lunchtime - January 31st at 2.40pm - road traffic collision in Sugar Way, Woodston, Peterborough. It's not stated on the RTC report, but road conditions in this built up area are usually clear during the day. However investigators will have to work out how a car had left the road and gone into a wall.
The firefighters from two stations used specialist cutting equipment to release a trapped person. Crews returned to their stations by 3pm. IT should be noted that Stanground Fire Station is underthreat of closure or reduced manning due to budget cuts, even through they have been deferred.
