DETECTIVES investigating a murder in Peterborough are appealing for the publics' help to trace a man and woman they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
Officers working on Operation Darcy are keen to speak to Joanna Dennehy and Gary Stretch in connection with the stabbing after a body was discovered in a ditch on Saturday March 30th morning.
Members of the public are urged not to approach either of them but to report any sightings to police.
Detective Chief Insp Martin Brunning, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "Gary and Joanna are very distinctive in their appearance which is why I am asking the public's for help.
|Gary Stretch "Seven foot, three inches tall"|
"Gary Stretch is 47 and 7'3" with grey balding hair and Joanna Dennehy is 30 and has a very distinctive green tattoo on her right cheek, beneath her eye.
"They are very recognisable - even more so if they are together. We are keen to hear from anyone who has information about their whereabouts or believes they may have seen them since 2pm on Good Friday March 29th.
Both Gary and Joanna live in the Peterborough area, however, they may be anywhere in the UK and I appeal to the public to think about whether they have seen these two people or know where they are now. I need to locate them as a matter of urgency.
"I would also make a direct plea to Joanna and Gary - please contact police as it is important we speak to you."
A 23-year-old man from Peterborough who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail until May 24.
