|"Bedroom Tax is good for all of us"|
As thousands of Peterborough City Council Tax bills landed on doormats all over the city earlier today; angry callers to the PCC council tax support office on 01733 452241, complain they have had their calls terminated rather than being put on hold and held in a queue. Those on private phone networks and mobiles racking up substantial call charges in the process, according to callers who managed to get through to the PBROtrib
Callers say they have also tried the council main number 01733 747474, only for the same thing to happen. A council switchboard employee admitted that the system was 'having problems' with 'a very high number of calls' and that the usual recorded message and music tape wasn't 'clicking in'
Single occupancy discounts have to be individually applied for and are not automatically calculated for Council tax purposes, and for the first time anyone of working age although in receipt of benefits will see their support grants cut by 30 percent, and many will also be paying an additional 'bedroom tax.'
Enquiries can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org quoting account number and full postal address.
TRIBNOTE: The Chief Executives' office will cost council tax payers a cool £ 8,300,000:00 this year, perhaps she might like to spend some of it updating the telephone system ....
