|The Three mini coopers in the original Italian Job movie? Or is it our three Stanground Central local election candidates negotiating an enhanced flood risk for Stanground due to a proposed concreted over flood plain?|
Local Election (Stanground Central ) candidate Chris York says best things come in threes and he hopes you'll be putting an 'X' next to his name, number 3 on your postal voting slip, or if the polling booth vote on the 22nd May. Chris York has used a local printer NM PRINT for his latest informational leaflet and handing them out on the doorstep, he tells me. Good to keep employment and election expenses inside our neighbourhoods!
The topics he's chosen to highlight, include the now derelict Peterborough Council Care Home, one of several ruthlessly closed down by the Conservatives, and voted for closure by the Stanground Central Tories. Its now had all the flowering cherry trees hacked down. A right mess, Conservative Candidate Brian Rush is also standing for re- election.
Chris York also helpfully points out that Brians Bowling Green Project behind that other publicly funded deep money pit, the Stangound Community Centre (Secy Cllr Turnip, Conservative), hasn't seen a single game of lawn bowls since it was completed over a decade ago, but remains padlocked and expensively maintained behind a high fence. It's had over the years, lavished on its closed to all, lush green grass, thousands of public funding pounds, running into six figures.
Still it's just along from the Chris York initiative, the Stanground Skateboard and Scooter Park, which is a firm favorite with kids of all ages.
As we are set for a prolonged period of rain, heavy downpours even, Chis York also wonders why Brian would enthusiastically vote for the Magna Park Railfreight and mega automated warehouse Interchange; effectively concreting over a natural flood plane (ie a level flood plain) all the way from Stanground to Kings Dyke?
|CONFUSED DOT CON: Brain says he's against it, but then voted for it. |
"Make it all go away Marco"
To clarify 'Brian' Rushed in, was "party whipped" or "robotically voted" (Marco must have growled at Brian) and meekly voted in favour of the Peterborough local plan which includes Magna Park Railfreight and mega automated warehouse Interchange, but on his election leaflet he says he is against it......
To cap it all Brian, also tick boxed a HUGE flood outflow drain from the massive Great Hadden new housing development, right into our river in Stanground. The outflow is like the drain sequence in the original Italian Job movie with Mini Cooper rally cars racing along inside the drain...
