Take a good look, announced today is the floating of an idea to extend the HS2 High Speed Railway between Leeds and Manchester, which of course will mean even less resources to renew the profitable East Coast Main Line currently in public ownership. Thus disadvantaging the East of England, more than it is already.
We've already seen major Peterborough investors selling up and moving their assets to Birmingham on the HS2 route, and Cllr Marco Cereste, seemingly still not talking to the Central Peterborough Conservative MP Stewart Jackson.
We also have the Central Labour Group sitting on their hands and the Lib Dems in a hissy fit not agreeing to anything. The libdems videoed their contribution to the first full concil session and pasted it all over the internet, but anyone else the Beadle stopped the filming...ahh such is democracy in action.
The Inde's and UKIPs just banking their allowances, looking all around in wide eyed wonder. The point being that as the HS2, and now possibly HS3 remains effectively unopposed by the no overall control Peterborough City Council, LACK OF ACTION will, be taken by Westminster as a tickbox for yes, and also by its Manchester centric supporters.
Time the Dear NOC Leader buried the axe and urgently set up round table meetings with his TWO CONSERVATIVE MP's, as no one else is listening. (Check the council Twitter and Facebook feed for confirmation...)
The PBROTRIB also likes this valued contribution from SJacksonMP: "The Prime Minister should be in no doubt that he spoke for Peterborough and our country last week with his robust leadership at the EU Council. I always knew he had lead in his pencil......" [The comments page is as always open!]
