Although still publicly protesting he is staying with the Conservatives, it looks as if Stewart Jackson MP is considering boarding the conveyor belt of back bench Tory MP's with no future prospect of high office within the current set up of the Conservative Party, and heading for the promised land of UKIP. But looking at the Clacton polling on Sunday 31st August. WILL THEY HAVE HIM? His Peterborough constituency isn't exactly first tier, or a target seat. It doesn't even cover the whole of the City of Peterborough...
The latest clue is in the pleading hand-wringing tone of the weekly polemic we dub 'Westminster Pondlife' the MP writes ( or has written - what do we know?) in the local newspaper. Some weeks its a thoughtful piece, others its a Con Central Office rerun of the latest press handouts or other justification for the mees we all seem to be in, but lately its akin to something knocked off at the last minute in the back of a taxi. But with little taxing thought put in.... and if he wishes to only reach his Werrington constituents, why on earth is dressed up as editorial in a local paid for newspaper seen by a few, some outside of his patch? With Paul Stainton on holiday Wacco [Stewie Jackson MP] and the Dear Leader [Cllr Marco 'Sunshine' Cereste make strange bedfellows in the pared down local newspaper.
We've noticed Mr Jackson can routinely dish it out, but the MP fails to understand that we don't have to be one of his wretched constituents, to comment, especially if in our considered view an MP acts repeatedly like a right prat. Trouble is it's so often, and we just don't have the space. Whilst the local newspaper prevents its readers reacting by closing the comments panel, they simply use our facility. Its a new and final term for you Stewart, do try not to mess it up. We (and our 800 a day viewers) will be watching.....
As Wacco routinely blocks us on Twitter, many thanks, to all 2 of you, who sent it over:
Truly #Wacco we rest our case ........
PBROTRIB suspicions were raised when the Daily Express exclusively revealed that a number of Conservative MP's had been wined and dined - a 'ligging' mentality perhaps? - over the last few weeks by a UKIP grandee.. It will not have escaped your notice that a prime Daily Express contributor is Mrs Stewart Jackson aka Sarah O'Grady. Could this be a case of pillow talk?
We don't think Mr Jackson will immediately resign his seat, triggering a by-election, but will hang on until the General Election. Stewart Jackson of #MPsexpenses fame and well known locally as 'a serial ligger' and to be found at various times, supporting all the best restaurants and society events. He tweets about it as well.
If he is defeated at the 2015 General Election, (Election campaign decisions now only a few weeks away, if all the personalised Tory and UKIP election marketing material is to be commissioned and produced in time), then not only will the Jackson family considering putting their Park ward mansion ( with swimming pool!) on the market (probably at a loss) but Mr Jacksons relatives who recently moved into the area, might also consider moving out of Peterborough.
BBC: "Conservative MP for Peterborough, Stewart Jackson, tells a UK Independence Party meeting that he is at one with them."
