Sorry we couldn't get this to you earlier, but you do wonder when they include the holiday period in an important consultation period. The survey is online and the booklet at various centres in the City.
Little real notice is taken of these consultations, but we should go through the motions and fill in the form and have the comments on file for when it all falls apart.
Our take on it is to straw poll all the existing providers of Out of Hours services and have a look at performance figures and costs ( all available within the NHS) and select the best mode. As for out of hours services this should be charged back to the partner led practices, as clearly an out of hours service is part and parcel of GP care. They might also like to put some receptionists (one real dragon in particular) on a basic customer care course....
Its also well known that Out of Hours Service Locums are exceptionally high users of the Ambulance and Accident and Emergency Services. For their own protection at the slightest excuse they will refer the patient to Hospital thus compounding an already acute problem. How come we are the only ones to work this out? But PLEASE COMPLETE THE ONLINE SURVEY
