During February the force is raising awareness of domestic abuse and encouraging people to seek help.
The average woman affected by domestic abuse experiences 35 incidents before they get help and every week two women die at the hands of a current or ex-partner. It is important to remember the issue is not something that only affects women. One in six men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.
Don't face domestic abuse alone. Reach out and report it. The police take domestic abuse incredibly seriously and there is help available. You can report it by calling 101, or 999 if you are in immediate danger.
