|Paul Stainton, Ringmaster|
If you missed it Paul Stainton, in Gods Own Unitary Authority, took the county bailer twine off his trousers, and test tubes out of his pockets to make room for Pizza slices, traffic jams, cheap fashion, as he returned to Peterborough this morning to host his BBC Big Conversation on Immigration. It was lively, featured all the usual suspects, they had a go as it were. It's well worth another listen so click on this link. (Starts one hour, six minutes in)
The debate held at the Peterborough Town Hall, (soon to become an Hotel?) after the first hour in the Peterborough studio, a short sprint during a longish tune through Marco Memorial Square ( and optional small dirty boy and pigeon wash, possibly pausing for a frappe latte at Bewiched Coffee) and it was interesting to hear our parliamentary hopefuls in full discordant voice. Its the first time we've actually heard Lisa Forbes delivering a fairly detailed robust reply to former MP Stewart Jackson, rather than trotting off verbatim Labour Party handouts. The UKIPPERS also out in force and voice.
Jacco bless him getting narked in places - delivering his script culled from the destination roller blind of a hard working Number 11 London Bus - it goes down Fleet Street - with snippets from the Conservative Party Manifesto, published earlier today
It was also good to hear star campaigner Audrey Chalmers former Mayor of Peterborough, delightfully hijacking the airways. The big man then sprinted back past several pizza parlours and Greggs to the underused BBC Peterborough studios to conduct part three - a phone in and what a corker that was. Do give it a listen and if you are not registered to vote. Do it today. Lists close on April 20th.
