SKY NEWS OMITS PETERBOROUGH FROM ITS KEY ELECTION COVERAGE AND RESTRICTS FULL ACCESS TO CUSTOMERS ONLY

Sky News has released its plans for the 2015 General Election, and they do not include Peterborough.  They clearly don't think our election campaign is sexy enough for Sky viewers but will broadcast from Whitney, Sheffield, Margate and Doncaster.    The station claims to be offering the most in depth and comprehensive multi –platform coverage in its history but still omits the Cathedral City of Peterborough. What on earth are they thinking? For the first time they say all platforms will have equal significance – television, digital and social media, they seem to have missed out radio! But the fun is strictly limited to Sky customers. The purple prose gushes: an array of choices on how they want to consume the latest breaking news and analysis. The emphasis on young voters will increase with the Stand Up Be Counted campaign visiting key British towns and cities.

On 7th May Sky News will be live from over 270 declarations. Partnering with Live U, this is the most ambitious and wide ranging results service available and will ensure Sky customers have the most up to date information as it happens. Coverage will kick off at 9pm in a new specially created studio at Sky News’ Osterley studio.

Here Adam Boulton will anchor with Faisal Islam and polling expert Michael Thrasher, interpreting the results as they are announced giving viewers at home the latest on what this means for the future leadership of the UK. The Sky News team will broadcast from key constituencies across the UK including Kay Burley from Witney, David Cameron’s seat, Anna Botting from Sheffield Hallam,  Nick Clegg’s constituency, Andrew Wilson from Margate where Nigel Farage will be hoping to gain the Thanet South seat, Jeremy Thompson from Ed Miliband’s constituency in Doncaster,

UPDATES: Post are transmitted from a variety of remote sources, immediately published on servers in the USA, additions, updates and any corrections added later on the blog version only.

Editorial policy: WE DON'T CENSOR NEWS, we will however come down hard on lawbreakers, all forms of ASB - Anti Social Behaviour, and anyone or group who seek to disturb or disrupt our neighbourhoods and communities, or in anyway abuse, take unfair advantage or financially disadvantage our citizens. We support the Park Farm Neighbourhood Watch and digitally carry the messages from this independent Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.

We are openly but constructively critical of all political parties (actual and sham), pressure groups, overbearing 'jobsworths' and those who seek to waste public funds, abuse public office, ramp up expenses, BUY VOTES and/or engage in any form of directed or robotic voting.

Whilst accepting that many in Public Office perform a valuable service and make a worthwhile contribution, there are others who are frankly rubbish. Although Julian Bray is the editor, there are several Blog administrators / correspondents who actively contribute by remote transmission to this blog.

So it could be some days before the copy (content) is seen by the Editor and properly formatted. We consider all representations and correct any facts that are clearly deficient.
