A female robber who assaulted an elderly man riding a mobility scooter and stole his wallet, has been locked up for two years.
Emma Holman, 33, of Palmerston Road, in Peterborough, approached the elderly man in Fletton High Street at about 5.30pm on August 24 2015 then assaulted him before stealing the victims £200 in cash.
The gentleman, in his 80s, was on his way home, having withdrawn £200 from a nearby cash machine (ATM). He sustained minor injuries.
Holeman pleaded guilty to a charge of robbery, at a previous hearing and was sentenced to two years in prison at Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday, January 28.
Detective Constable Kevin Poole said: "This was a particularly cowardly attack on an elderly man who had no means to defend himself and was left traumatised by the incident.
"The sentence handed out today reflects the serious nature of the attack."
